What is TDLR Contractor License?

A TDLR contractor license is the Texas air conditioning and refrigeration (ACR) contractor license issued by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation, required for businesses that install, repair or maintain HVAC systems in Texas. Each license has a public number, and homeowners can confirm its status on TDLR's online license search.

Why it matters to you

Verifying a license takes minutes and is one of the simplest ways to screen a Greater Houston HVAC bidder before you sign a replacement quote. JHC Cooling & Heating, LLC holds TDLR license TACLA75082C.

Practical guidance

On TDLR's License Search, choose the air conditioning and refrigeration contractor license type, then search by business name or license number and check that the license is active. Refrigerant handling also requires a separate federal EPA Section 608 technician certification.
